Dr. Mahmoud Elish is an Associate Professor and Head of the Computer Science Department at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), Kuwait. He also served as Interim Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at GUST. Prior to joining GUST, he was an Associate Professor of Software Engineering in the Information and Computer Science Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. During Summer 2016, he was a Faculty Research Fellow in the Computer Science Department at University of Missouri - Saint Louis (UMSL). Dr. Elish received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from George Mason University, USA, in 2005. His research interests include software metrics, software quality, software maintenance and evolution, software security, empirical software engineering, and computational intelligence in software engineering. He has published more than 45 articles in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. His work has received over 1200 citations, and his current h-index on Google scholar is 17. Dr. Elish has been a very active reviewer for several prestigious journals and a program committee member of many conferences. He has intensive experience with curriculum development and academic accreditation, and has been the principal investigator/co-investigator of several funded research projects. He has also supervised several MSc theses and numerous capstone senior projects. He is a member of ACM and IEEE.
